Happy Fall! Tomorrow is the fall equinox. This astonomoical event occurs at the same moment worldwide when the Sun is directly above the Earth's equator, leading to roughly equal amounts of daylight and darkness. Maybe fall is your favorite season, I know it's mine. Each year, I go through my stash to see what I feel like spreading around my rooms. Let's take a look.

An urn full of fall leaves could easily stand on a dining table or a chest of doors. Anywhere you want some color.

Around here in Oakland, CA, fall leaves are really their best in December. Here's my stash of lifelike leaves.

A basket of worn brushes reminds me fall - the last outdoor work before winter comes. Some of these brushes were P's, a couple from estate sales and a lovely red wood brush from my friend, Sue.

The almost century old zebra skin was a gift from D'Zama Murielle, my childhood piano teacher.

The quickest way to change seasons is with pillow covers. I bring these (from Amazon) out every year, along with an old Montgomery Ward tin filled with pine cones. My mom kept her freshly baked sugar cookies in it as I grew up.

The living room mantel year after year.

In the kitchen, an expandable hat rack gets a fall treatment.

Kimberly sent me a bejeweled glass pumpkin for my bathroom counter.

In my study, a few snapshots of some fall decor. A favorite Lady Buddha dressed in a garland of fall leaves.

On my study worktable, 3 sculpted pears found at the Hood River Valley Festival.

And on my little sofa, Jimmy Mouse in his cable knit sweater and a felted pumpkin found at our annual trek to a special festival. "For over 40 years, the Hood River Valley Harvest Festival has brought together food, crafts and live entertainment for three days of autumn magic along the Hood River waterfront," according to it's website. October 10-12, 2025 in Hood River, OR. This fall, hope you can visit an autumn festival or walk through fall leaves. Happy Sunday!
