DecorBook Classic : Stair Steppin'

As we get closer to the holidays, I was thinking of affordable projects anyone could do in a day or two - just in time to show off to holiday guests. What about updating a staircase? Ours is covered with carpet so we're a bit stuck, but that doesn't mean I can't dream. Don't you love this trompe l'oeil black runner? It's amazing what an impact a little paint makes. Let's take a look at the impact of just changing the risers - easily done with paint, stickers, stencils or wallpaper.

Glorious wallpaper - imagining floating up to bedrooms in an old country house. If you're lucky enough to have a staircase with wooden risers, how about changing them up? I'm almost ready to rip the carpet off our staircase.
