DecorBook Classic : Splashy Summer Flowers

As a kid, I loved the dinner plate dahlias my mom grew in our front yard. They were so showy that at least once every summer, we'd discover someone in our front yard helping themselves. Showy flower displays are alive and well this summer, both in and outside of our rooms. Let's take a look.

A Cotswolds home in the UK. I'm guessing there's some chicken wire involved.

You can barely see the narrow, white flat vases holding the three arrangements.

In Fine Gardening, Howard shared a description of his exterior box - "The summer window box is a riot of color and growth. Tall pink begonias, white caladiums and trailing dark purple sweet potato vines are just some of the many plants creating this beautiful display."

Delphinium, poppies and grapes - who could ask for anything more on a summer table?

Flowers provide a welcoming at a French restaurant. A 36" x 36" print is available at Kohl's for $95.99.

On my IKEA work table in my study, a few special live plants. Certainly not splashy but each hold sentamental meaning. Kimberly gave me the jade plant 6 years ago. Together, we're working to make it a bonsai. P's private nurse gave me the little orchid 3 years ago. It's still hanging in there, offering a spectacular branch of blooms about every half year. Hope you have a great Sunday and maybe treat yourself to a walk through a flower garden.
