This Happy Hour is all about getting some kind of skirt for our Christmas tree table. In 2018, we gave away our 8' Christmas tree. It took a village to get it out of the basement, up two flights of stairs and set up. I love my new two-piece 4.5" tree, pre-lit with 450 lights and weighing just 18 lbs (Amazon). I easily assembled it on a 24" high small table, making it a total of 6.5' in height. As you can see, that table looked bare. This year, I thought I'd sew up a skirt but after looking a lots of Christmas tree skirt solutions (see last week's article, "Christmas Tree Skirting"), I came up another idea.
Using bungee cords, I attached the tree base to the table and then rolled a length of 24" high willow fencing (available from Amazon) around the table.
P helped me secure the fencing to the legs of the table with zip ties.
Easy peasy and all ready for a blanket of "snow."
Here's the finished product. This Happy Hour took 15 minutes (not counting ordering the willow and the snow online) and I'm hoping you like it. If you have a minute, send me a photo of your tree this year. (firstname.lastname@example.org). In the meantime, here's to a Happy Hour devoted to getting our trees just right!
Since I still had 45 minutes left of my Happy Hour, I had enough time to get a warm and welcoming beef soup on the stove - perfect for a stormy day.
