Happy Hour : Christmas Tree Skirts

Every been in a restaurant when it turns "Happy Hour?" You notice the mood instantly changes as everyone is ready for fun. Whenever I'm having a Bad Hair Day, my cure is always a personal Happy Hour. Of course, I'm hopeless addicted to interiors; so for me, this hour is all about decorating. In this series, we'll look at some quick and happy mood changers for our very own Happy Hour. Each should take about an hour - a mere 60 minutes - to perk up our minds and our rooms. Let's get the party started.

This Happy Hour is all about getting some kind of skirt for our Christmas tree table. In 2018, we gave away our 8' Christmas tree. It took a village to get it out of the basement, up two flights of stairs and set up. I love my new two-piece 4.5" tree, pre-lit with 450 lights and weighing just 18 lbs (Amazon). I easily assembled it on a 24" high small table, making it a total of 6.5' in height. As you can see, that table looked bare. This year, I thought I'd sew up a skirt but after looking a lots of Christmas tree skirt solutions (see last week's article, "Christmas Tree Skirting"), I came up another idea.

Using bungee cords, I attached the tree base to the table and then rolled a length of 24" high willow fencing (available from Amazon) around the table.

P helped me secure the fencing to the legs of the table with zip ties.

Easy peasy and all ready for a blanket of "snow."

Here's the finished product. This Happy Hour took 15 minutes (not counting ordering the willow and the snow online) and I'm hoping you like it.
