Happy Hour : IKEA Fladis Basket

Every been in a restaurant when it turns "Happy Hour?" You notice the mood instantly changes as everyone is ready for fun. Whenever I'm having a Bad Hair Day, my cure is always a personal Happy Hour. Of course, I'm hopeless addicted to interiors; so for me, this hour is all about decorating. In this series, we'll look at some quick and happy mood changers for our very own Happy Hour. Each should take about an hour - a mere 60 minutes - to perk up our minds and our rooms. Let's get the party started.

Maybe you've come across the IKEA Fladis basket. It wasn't until I saw Martha Stewart's silver-painted Fladis baskets that I thought - FUN Happy Hour project! Let's take a look at how I gave it a little flower power.

Price reduced to $9.99 at IKEA in Emeryville, CA. Baskets can also be folded in half.

I used plain white old interior house paint for the background.

In honor of the Woodstock concert 50th anniversary this month , I thought daisies would be cool. Use a pencil to draw out the design and color it. The easy part was that if I wanted to change something, paint easily covers mistakes. The hard part is hard to get a straight line with the seagrass.

A happy summer planter in our family room. If you use leftover paint, this happy hour will cost $10 for the basket. Depending on your design, this could take multiple happy hours. I'd love to see what you come up wth for your Fladis basket. Please let me know - just use the comment field below! Enjoy your Happy Hour!
